If you are about to remove the commercial door locks that you have, there are certain ways in making sure that the removal is just right without any possible damage to the actual locks. In order to do the removal you may need to prepare a piece of punch or an awl which will all come in handy in this matter.

Replacing Commercial Lock is Easy

You will need to remove your old commercial door locks if you want to replace them with new ones. By using either an awl or a punch, you should push it right into the small hole on the side of the lock’s handle. By doing that, you will release a little piece of tab which will let you to pull off the handle of the lock. Next thing to do is to release the so called escutcheon around the lock by using a screwdriver.

Use the screwdriver to unscrew the screws and tighten up the outside lock right onto the main part of the lock. Next two screws will be your final screws to deal with in order to fully remove the lock itself. If you want to make sure that there is nothing in your commercial door locks damaged, you have to make sure to do all of the steps gently.
